This year the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge (JPMCCC) took place on June 11, 2008 in Frankfurt.
Although all in the pb tec team had to invest much time and work in preparations and wrap-up of the SMT show in Nuremberg, they decided to take part in the run for the first time. With 9 participants far from the the biggest group, but one of them with the most fun they went to Frankfurt by train. There the run started at 7.30 pm with 73.000 runners!
5.6 km through the city of Frankfurt had to be managed in a run. Although nobody from the pb tec team had really had enough time to train intensely, all managed the distance very well – even with acceptable results.
Especially for the event CEO Reinhard Nitz, who also took part in the run, donated shirts with the new pb tec logo and the key figure, the friendly robot “pebe”.
Teams from all over Germany come to the business run to Frankfurt. Large concerns, small and medium-sized business and also many administrations take part.
President Dr. Horst Köhler had taken over the patronage for the PMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge. A donation about 222.000 Euro was given to the foundation “Deutsche Sporthilfe” to promote young disabled athletes. 1,50 € from the entry fee of each runner where given to the “Sporthilfe”. JPMorgan doubles the sum and furthermore rounds it up.
J.P. Morgan is the short form for the name John Pierpont Morgan, who was the most important financer in the United States one hundred years ago. Already sixteen times the bank has organized the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Frankfurt.
All participants agreed about the fact that the run was a very special event. The amazing number of runners, who anyhow where peaceful and disciplined and the spectators who cheered for the runners – this was really amazing! Next year pb tec will for sure participate again with a bigger group!
